Hi! I’m Darren Blacow, I’m a 20 year old student from Lancaster. I chose to study Digitial Media and Marketing at MMU due to the diverse nature of the course. After university I plan to work as a front end website developer at a digital agency in Manchester. My key skills are website development, graphic design , and being able to communicate well as part of a team. Hobbies of mine include going to the gym, rock climbing and design side projects along with netflix!

Three words my friends would use to describe me are: energetic, funny and loyal. Not like you would want to go through my iPod but if you did you’d find a mix of grime, house and Taylor Swift (I know, I know…) My all time favourite food would have to be chicken noodle soup with a warm, buttery crusty roll.  My favourite film of all time has to be Remember the Titans with an honorable mention going to The Martian. Incredible films! Finally, I cried during UP. There, now you have all my dirty secrets!

My name’s Kamila but most people call me Kam. I am 20 years old and I originally come from Poland.

I decided to study combined honours as I believe that marketing and digital media are closely connected and studying both fields gives me better insight to both marketing and digital media.

My favourite aspect of studying marketing and media is post production of videos, I really enjoy putting all footage together and creating a movie/documentary that can be then seen by other people and I hope to gain more experience and skills in this field.

Despite being a full time student I have a full time job where I have two different job positions: I am a office administrator and a mortgage advisor. Apart from studying and working I skydive on a regular basis and also enjoy travelling and physical activity.

Tamas Kolcsey

Meet The Team
    • What’s your name, how old are you and where are you from?

Hello there, my name is Tamas Kolcsey, but Tommy is easier. I am 21 years old and have come from Romania, Transylvania more exactly.

    • Why did you choose to study Digital Media and Marketing at MMU?

The answer for this question is simple: I didn’t have this option back home as Romania doesn’t have combined honours courses and in my opinion the education level here is more industry oriented and this matter appealed to me.

    • What are your key skills and career aspirations?

My key skill is designing and creating a product out of my designs. Everything can relate to design and the hows and whys of certain decisions during the design process. Thus I am considering Front End Development as a career choice.

I consider myself a man of many talents (or simply, interests?), but mainly I love listening to music, as I’ve been DJing for more than 4 years having appearances at several Romanian festivals under the name Shorty, and even organizing my own festival with some close friends, called Plopstock. Currently I take part in the Pangaea Festival Team working together with web developers & designers to build Pangaeas new website.
